Rodeo the Cat needs a home
Rodeo was liberated from a small cage at a local vet clinic, where she has spent over 14 years of her life. She came in as a pregnant stray, gave birth and all the kittens were adopted. For whatever reason, the vet did not try to find a home for her. Instead, Rodeo has spent 24 hours a day in that cage, not even getting out for the cage to be cleaned.
After launching a on-line petition and garnering over 600 supporters, the vet relented and allowed Rodeo to leave. She is now with me and is looking for a forever home to live out her golden years.
Rodeo is extremely sweet and gentle. Upon arriving home, she paid no mind to my cats, and after an initial inspection of the house, she settled into a cat bed, ate some wet food and fell asleep. I think she will become a lap cat, given the time and attention.
Rodeo does have health issues. She has an enlarged heart and her lungs have white spots from untreated bouts of pneumonia. She underwent a dental to extract most of her teeth, which were rotten, and was given a steriod injection to calm down the inflammation of her gums and mouth tissues due to stomatitis. She is now eating dry food and treats, whereas before she could barely manage to eat wet food because of the pain.
Rodeo is a quiet and sweet cat, despite what she has endured. She loves her freedom and often darts from room to room, but can mostly be found sleeping in her cat bed.
